Losing It! 08.06.10

I wanted to show you something. Look at these two different pictures.

This is from Christmas. December 24, 2009. Check out my cheeks and chin

My sweetie took this on Tuesday. NOW look at the cheeks and chin – SMALLER!

Ya, that made my day, week, year….

And, that picture doesn’t really even do true justice to the changes in my face. Pretty exciting stuff I must say! And, I needed that. I’ve been VERY frustrated with myself lately. I’m not doing well. I haven’t gained weight, but I haven’t lost either. I haven’t been eating well at all. More sweets and less veggies these past couple weeks. Not enough exercise. Ya, it hasn’t been great!

I have my excuses – we’re moving, the Princess is starting a new school, my job is crazy busy, I’m working on a major fundraiser for my BFF. LOTS of excuses. However, excuses don’t excuse the behaviors I’m dropping back into. It’s pure laziness I say!

So, I joined the Y. My office is right by the Y, and since I’ll be driving my daughter over to school at the crack of dawn until we move, I have no excuse not to spend a a few minutes at the Y every day. I go for my “training” on Tuesday. Gotta learn how to use all those machines. They intimidate me. But, I CAN do it. And, I think the change in exercise will jump start my body into losing another thirty pounds!

What do you do when you need a little jump start?

  1. Wow Kathy! Yes, those pictures look great!! I totally can relate to a rut. Sometimes I needed to actually gain a lb (instead of staying even) just to give me that motivation!! That is a great Y!! You’ll like it there! Good for you!!

    • Thanks Mandi! Excited about the Y! I think it will give me the little kick I need. And, the Princess wants me to try Zumba classes! LOL! She saw an infomercial on tv. Good grief.

  2. You look great! I can definitely tell you’ve lost weight. Hang in there through all of this stressful time. It will calm down soon. Don’t let the weigh thing add MORE stress! You should be super proud of how far you’ve come.

I did terrible this week, which is why I didn’t write a “healthy preggo” post for Losing It 10. I’m giving myself a little time to be preggo and use that as an excuse for not exercising and more sleeping. LOL Then I”m going to jump back on the elliptical. I DO want to keep exercising and try to make this pregnancy the best one yet!

  3. Wow Kathy! Amazing change since December and since I last saw you! I bet stirring things up a bit by going to the Y will give you & your body the boost you need to lose that next 30 lbs! Way to go for sticking to it and not giving up!

  4. Wow, you look great! So excited for you. I know the Y will be great for you too! So glad it is convenient. Hope that you have a great week! Moving can be so stressful!

    • You are NOT kidding about the stress and moving. Good thing I don’t believe that I’m in charge of any of it really and can give it all to Him. Or, I might go insane! LOL!

  5. You look great! Enjoy the Y! I started running on their treadmills…I felt like I could walk/run for days watching my favorite morning shows on TV while I was doing it. And if you ever have a chance, try Sandy’s Zumba class…you’ll feel like a fool the first few times, but it’s the most fun you can have on two legs. Nothin’ like a little bootie-shakin’ to burn off the calories!

    • I totally CANNOT do the treadmill. I feel like I’m going to fall off the ENTIRE time.
Going to try the Zumba class. The Princess saw an infomercial about Zumba the other day and thinks I’ll love it and must take a class – and then get the DVDs to do it with her at home of course. LOL!

  6. Great job girl!! I love me some motivation pictures!!
Wonderful way to persevere and join the Y! Let me know if you want any texting accountability!! I’ll be there!! ๐Ÿ™‚ I will halt with the exclamation marks now. ๐Ÿ™‚
