Menu Plan Monday : 09 19 11

We don’t have any major activities this week (at least during the week). When I told the Princess, her jaw dropped. This hasn’t happened in quite some time. There are no rehearsals. No practices. We’re really not sure what we’re going to do with ourselves. Guess I can cook dinner this week! We have a TON of meat in the freezer thanks to a Plum District on Omaha Steaks and the chicken from Zaycon Foods.

Monday: Small Group (We might have a snack before. Princess will have chicken nuggets.)

Tuesday: Steak, potatoes, broccoli

Wednesday: 5 Layer Chicken Enchiladas, sliced veggies

Thursday: Pork Chops, Rice, Green Beans

Friday: Leftovers

Saturday: Cast party

Sunday: Chicken and Rice casserole from the freezer, salad

Menu Plan Monday : 09 12 11

I don’t know why I don’t menu plan every week. Seriously, why do I not?! Life is SO MUCH BETTER when I menu plan. I even incorporated the menu plan into my new Cleaning Schedule. Indeed I did. Hopefully, that will force the issue! I will need to fill in that blank. LOL!

Here’s this week’s plan…

Monday: Small Group. If we eat something, it will be a bowl of cereal before. The Princess will get a quesadilla or leftovers.

Tuesday: Baked Talapia – I got it from Costco and am anxious to try it, roasted asparagus, noodles

Wednesday: Spaghetti and meatballs, salad

Thursday: Homemade Pizza

Friday: Bratwurst, buttered noodles, green beans

Saturday: Leftovers

Sunday: Out to eat to celebrate first weekend of the Princess’s show!

What are you making this week?

Menu Plan Monday : 07 24 11

I know. It’s been forever since I’ve shared a plan.

The truth – I haven’t really been having one this summer.

You’re shocked. I know.

Here’s the thing. It’s been kinda flexible around here. For one, the Princess hasn’t been home for dinner much. She’s been at camp, then at Callaway Gardens, and then at Grandma’s. Then, there is the going to the pool. That impedes on dinner plans. For sure.

However, this week… I’ve got a plan.

Monday: Small Group – We’ll grab a snack and then eat yummies with the group.

Tuesday: No Princess. Meatloaf and salad.

Wednesday: No Princess. Perhaps My Sweetie will ask me out on a date.

Thursday: Monterrey Chicken Quesadillas

Friday: Burson Kids Day : Takeout Pizza using a Groupon!

Saturday: Leftovers

Sunday: Sticky Chicken, steamed broccoli, rice

We’ll see if I stick to the plan.

What are you planning this week?

Menu Plan Monday: 04 04 11

It’s been awhile since I’ve posted a menu plan. That doesn’t mean I haven’t had one. I just haven’t posted it. LOL! This week will probably be a bit crazy we’re supposed to close on our new “cottage” on Tuesday. We were supposed to close last week, but there were issues. So now, this Tuesday is hopefully the day. If you’ve got time to send a quick prayer that it actually happens, we would appreciate it. It’s been a bit of a nightmare.

So, here is the tentative plan…

Monday: Small Group – out to dinner

Tuesday: Chicken and Rice Casserole (from the freezer)

Wednesday: Marinated pork chops (from the freezer), pasta, salad

Thursday: Leftovers

Friday: Leftovers

Saturday: MOVING DAY! Pizza

Sunday: Pork Loin in the crockpot (from the freezer), rice, steamed broccoli

What are you eating this week?

Menu Plan Monday 02 07 11

We are gearing up for some crazy weeks ahead at the House of Hills. Looking forward, I’m not sure if it’s every going to slow down. However, I’m beginning to think that is the new normal here. **sigh**

Here is the plan for the week. The Princess looked at it and said, “We’re having leftovers two days!” Little does she know we usually have leftovers two days. She just doesn’t realize it. How often do you do leftovers? I’ve found that if I cook too many days during a week we end up wasting food.

Sunday: Tortellini with meat sauce, salad, crescent rolls

Monday: Pork Chops (I just pulled these from the freezer. They’re in my favorite marinade.), rice, asparagus

Tuesday: Roast in slow cooker, pasta ribbons, green beans

Wednesday: Stuffed shells (making extra for freezer), broccoli

Thursday: Leftovers

Friday: Leftovers

Saturday: Well, I don’t know about Saturday. The Princess may be at my mom’s. If that’s the case, then My Sweetie and I will go out. Or, we sit at home and watch TV and eat cereal. Really, not sure….

What you are you having this week? Anything yummy that I need to know of?

Do you menu plan? If you don’t, I don’t know how you make it through the week. Seriously, I don’t. Just having this plan on paper (or on the blog) makes me rest a little easier. In fact, this month, I took stock of my freezer and made a meal plan for the month. Have we kept to it? Nope. Has it helped me each Monday when I sit down to plan for the week. YES IT HAS! Just knowing what I have the main ingredients for is AWESOME. Not having to think things through each and every week is GREAT!

If you don’t menu plan, you should try it. For real!

Monday: Leftovers

Tuesday: Sausage Zucchini bake (a variation of this)

Wednesday: Chicken (turkey) Pot Pie – The Princess is cooking. She made us dinner last week too.

Thursday: Sausage and cheese quiche (a variation of this)

Friday: Leftovers

Saturday: Out or leftovers

Sunday: Nana coming for dinner. Not sure what we’re cooking yet.

Menu Plan Monday: 01 09 11

Today is a SNOW DAY here in the ATL. I’ll be posting pictures later, but am late getting to the blogging because I was having too much fun in the snow!

I have a work retreat at the end of the week so the family will be living off leftovers. We already have a good many in the fridge so I’m really only cooking a few times this week!

Monday: LEFTOVERS – the fridge is full! We have all sorts of possibilities

Tuesday: Baked Chicken Legs – not sure what I’m going to do with them yet, asparagus, rice or noodles

Wednesday: Pot Roast with carrots and potatoes

Thursday: Daddy Night – Leftovers

Friday: Daddy Night – Leftovers

Saturday: Family Dinner at my mom’s. I think we’re having flank steak. Yum!

Sunday: Hamburgers, chips, some kind of veggie

I’m pretty sure we are also going to be consuming large quantities of homemade hot chocolate mix. I was going to link to the recipe, but I don’t have it on the blog! I shall rectify that tonight during the football game!

What are you cooking this week? Any ideas of what to do with my chicken legs?

Monday: Turkey sandwiches and/or warmed up turkey and gravy.

Here are some ideas of what to do with leftover turkey.

Tuesday: Garlic Shrimp

Wednesday: Out (We are beginning a staycation – just the hubby and I… ahhhh relaxation….)

Thursday: Out

Friday: New Year’s Eve – Out

Saturday: Buffalo Chicken Dip and Wings (either at home or at someone’s house – FOOTBALL!!)

Sunday: Tacos using some “Mexican Meat” in the freezer. I’m sure that’s somebody’s recipe, but I can’t figure out whose!

In looking at my freezer and pantry, I am challenging myself to a Pantry Challenge over the next few weeks. I’m going to try and buy only fresh fruit and vegetables. There is PLENTY of food in this house, and it needs to be eaten!! We’re moving again in a few months, and I hate moving food. So, I’m planning on doing an inventory this week when it warms up a bit. It’s FREEZING in the garage right now.

Have a great week! What are you cooking?

Meal Plan Monday: 10 04 10

It’s another week – already! Where does the time go? Like seriously? Where?

I was contemplating my menu this morning when I noticed that Alicia over at Alicia’s Homemaking had a GREAT Menu Planning post already up this morning. So, I’m borrowing some stuff from her. If you are new to menu planning, you need to go check out her post as it has some AMAZING resources listed there for you.

Monday: Small Group – I’m not cooking

Tuesday: A variation of Alicia’s Zucchini Parmesan

Wednesday: Tacos (we never had them last week)

Thursday: Hot Dogs

Friday: Leftovers

Saturday: Leftovers

Sunday: Birthday party fare

Oh! And we’ll be eating lots of apples since the Princess and I went apple picking this weekend. And, I will be processing a lot of apples as I still have a ton left even after making a batch of applesauce and five cakes yesterday!

What’s really cool about the above menu is that ALL the meat is coming from my freezer. That’s right! Low grocery bill for me this week. Whoop!

Do you menu plan? If not, why not? It’s a life saver.
