Opening Boxes

For those of you following along, you know that the House of Hills moved this weekend. It was an exciting adventure filled with MANY, MANY boxes. If you’ve ever moved, you know that opening boxes can be both exciting and deflating. Exciting because you find things you forgot you had. Deflating because you now have to find somewhere to put those things!

There was one box that came in the mail right before we moved that I was VERY EXCITED to open! This is what was in it!

Fun right!

We use A LOT of paper products here at the House of Hills. Too many I’m sure. That’s why I’m excited to try Scott Naturals. They are made with recycled fiber. I can be green and use my paper products. Whoop!

Scott Naturals sent me a box of products to test drive. We are testing them out at the House of Hills, and I’ll let you know how it’s going next week. I’m already impressed with the paper towels, but more later.

The coolest thing – Scott Naturals wants you to take a test drive too! In fact, Scott Naturals is providing one of my readers with their very own box of products to try. How fabulous is that!?

To enter the giveaway:

  • Let me know the craziest thing you’ve found in a box when moving.
  • (Additional Entry) Click through and take the pledge to take a 4-week Test Drive. You’ll also be making a donation to the NWF. Then, leave me a comment and let me know you did.

Giveaway winner will be chosen at random on May 13th and the winner notified via email.

Update: Giveaway winner will be chosen on May 9th. I can’t count days apparently.

Disclosure: I was provided with products to review and giveaway and was compensated for this post by Scott Naturals and The Motherhood. However, all opinions are mine.

  1. The craziest thing I remember finding in a box while moving was a bag of fast food trash. Yuk! Somehow, the trash had gotten in with other materials I was using for packing and I made it to the new house with a couple of burger wrappers and a couple of used paper cups.

  2. When all my boxes came back from the fire remediation/restoration company, there was a plastic shopping bag with a whole set of keys and store discount key tags, pen, notebook, empty soda bottle, used hairbrush, and an open bag of pork rinds!! One of the ladies who packed the boxes somehow packed her personal belongings in with my things. Sad for her not have these for TWO months!

  3. I can’t remember the craziest thing I found in a box, but I can remember not finding a very essential box when we last moved! It had my rice cooker and coffee maker in it. It somehow landed in the trash…bust!

  4. Let me preface this by saying that I grew up in the country. Critters scampering about here and there was a daily norm. So, I wasn’t too surprised to find a dried up mouse carcass squished in the corner of a box that had been in storage. And yeah, I picked it up, no gloves, by the tail and showed it around. lol

  5. Jason left BellSouth in 2006 and packed up all the stuff in his desk and brought that box home, where it sat in the garage. That box got moved from Roswell to Cumming in 2008 and got put in the basement. The box finally got open last year (2010!!) and we found a can of Chef Boyardee ravioli that had expired in 2007!! And you know the shelf life on that stuff is tremendous!
    Also, I took the pledge.

  6. Well, on our most recent move I unpacked an ash tray. I have no idea where it came from. We don’t smoke, don’t own an ash tray, never owned an ash tray…. but there is was in the box with all my laundry supplies. Weird.
